 issue facing communities affected by disasters\, whether natural or human-
 caused. Disasters create additional challenges for survivors already traum
 atized by intimate partner violence. Previous traumas may be triggered as 
 a result of the shock\, fear\, anxiety\, and collapse of support systems d
 isasters can create. This workshop will include information about the disp
 roportionate vulnerability of women and children to domestic and sexual vi
 olence in disaster and emergency situations and tools will be shared on ho
 w to help increase the safety of survivors during and after a major disast

 ves as the National Center on Domestic Violence\, Trauma and Mental Health
 ’s Project Manager for a new Office for Victims of Crime grant program to 
 increase access to services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual

 \, and Coordinated Community Response Teams with training\, technical assi
 stance\, and capacity building on issues such as governance\, mission-driv
 en program and policy development\, and grant acquisition and management.

 Julie Ann holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State Univer
 sity\, a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Journalism from St. John Fish
 er College\, and an Executive Certificate in Transformational Nonprofit Le
 adership from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. 
 She is also a certified Field Traumatologist and Compassion Fatigue Educat
