X-WR-CALDESC:In late 2018\, NYSCADV asked domestic violence advocates to re
-imagine the future of domestic violence services in New York State. Advoc
ates were encouraged to picture themselves three years in the future and t
o envision the successes accomplished by DV programs\, advocates and survi
vors at that time. How are DV programs funded in the future? What services
are being provided? How are DV programs working with other stakeholders t
o end domestic violence?\n\nThis visioning exercise was undertaken at our
DV Program Directors Roundtable on November 28th. Since then\, we have re
ceived several requests to continue this important discussion as we work t
o strengthen the leadership of advocates and create a new model for domest
ic violence services and prevention efforts in New York.\n\nWe are pleased
to announce that the second part of this visioning exercise will be held
on April 16\, 2019\, in Albany. Please join NYSCADV to re-imagine elements
  of current dv system structures\, funding\, regulations\, monitoring\, pr
ogram operations\, and innovations that we want to establish or enhance.\n
\nWho should attend: Registration is open only to program staff of private
\, nonprofit\, nongovernmental organizations and programs that have a prim
ary purpose of providing shelter and supportive services to adult and yout
h victims of family violence\, domestic violence\, or dating violence\, an
d their dependents. This includes\, but is not limited to\, programs lice
nsed by the NYS Office for Children and Family Services or have local NY D
epartment of Social Services contracts to provide domestic violence servic
es\, either residential or nonresidential. \n\nWe highly encourage staff
in the following positions to attend:\n\nProgram Directors\nStaff in a sup
ervisory role or their designees\nDeep thinkers and visionary advocates\nA
ny program staff interested in participating this visioning exercise\nThis
conversation is more critical now than ever as the state of New York has
launched several initiatives which will impact domestic violence services.
Please join us in creating our future!
