 d\, by some estimates\, 99% of survivors are impacted by some form of econ
 omic abuse. In the short-term\, economic abuse can hinder survivors’ abili
 ty to escape an abusive relationship. In the long-term\, economic abuse ca
 n carry devastating consequences\, including ruined credits\, employment i
 ssues\, homelessness\, and legal issues. These consequences adversely affe
 ct survivors’ ability to achieve financial stability and security after le
 aving their abusers. The New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violenc
 e (NYSCADV) developed this webinar based on the “Moving Ahead Through Fina
 ncial Management” curriculum\, first created by the Allstate Foundation an
 d NNEDV. Topics covered during this webinar include: signs of economic abu
 se\, safety planning with survivors of economic abuse\, fundamentals of fi
 nancial planning and budgeting\, factors that affect credit\, savings stra
 tegies\, and short-term and long-term financial planning. Advocates who at
 tend this webinar will come away with an increased understanding of trauma
 -informed\, survivor-centered services to survivors of economic abuse.\n\n
 Who benefits from the workshop:\n\nThis webinar will benefit service provi
 ders directly and\, by extension\, the victims they serve. Providers will 
 come away with valuable tools necessary to provide financial safety planni
 ng with survivors of domestic violence. They will also be introduced to th
 e Moving Ahead curriculum and its modules and how to assist survivors in t
 heir path to financial empowerment.\n
