  1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men will experience severe intimate partner physi
 cal violence\, intimate partner contact sexual violence\, and/or intimate 
 partner stalking in their lifetime. The impacts of domestic violence inclu
 de injury\, fearfulness\, post-traumatic stress disorder\, and use of vict
 im services. Many survivors with pets delay leaving a dangerous home due t
 o fear for their animals’ safety. Shelters that offer assistance and safet
 y to survivors and their pets are available and growing on a national leve
 l. We ask for your collaboration as we host a community event to raise awa
 reness of RESTORE services\, other resources for pet owners\, and for Dome
 stic Violence Awareness month\, recognized nationally every October. Paws 
 for a Cause would be held on Saturday\, October 7 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.\, ra
 in or shine. RESTORE and partnering Domestic Violence Programs\, as well a
 s Local Animal Shelters and Vendors will table and provide education/resou
 rces/goods to the community. This event would be a non-alcoholic function 
 and would be welcome for all ages of the community to attend.\n\nAdvanced 
 registration is not required.
