Domestic Violence Awareness Month Toolkit

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). DVAM 2020 is looking very different this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that isn't stopping us or domestic violence programs across New York State (NYS) from creating virtual awareness and fundraising events that everyone can participate in safely from the comfort of their own homes. Since the onset of the pandemic, domestic violence programs have encountered many obstacles and challenges to transition remotely and they need more funding and resources to help support their work. That is why Domestic Violence Awareness Month will focus on raising awareness, speaking up, and the actions you can take to support DV survivors and bring vital resources to programs.

To that end, NYSCADV has created a Domestic Violence Action Month Social Media Toolkit so that everyone can help raise awareness and advocate on behalf of domestic violence survivors and programs during the month of October. This toolkit has everything you need to become a fierce advocate for survivors online. From facts to infographics to tweets, we invite you to download the graphics, add your own agency logo, and use this toolkit on your social media for October and be a part of our movement to end domestic violence.

We also encourage everyone to visit the NYSCADV website calendar which contains virtual events hosted by domestic violence programs across NYS by clicking here. From virtual walk/runs to a virtual concert, our calendar has something for everyone.
