Behavioral Health Services North, Inc. is a private, not-for profit organization and a regional leader in the provision of health services, including behavioral health, in the northernmost area of NY State. Through our 23 programs and in partnership with other regional health care providers and community-based organizations we work to improve care, strengthen individuals, families and community life by delivering health care and human services and systems that provide an integrated continuum of essential, responsive and cost-effective care. STOP Domestic Violence, a program component of Behavioral Health Services North, Inc., is certified by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services to provide nonresidential and residential domestic violence services.  STOP DV has been working since 1981 to help persons who are victims of intimate partner violence find safety and feel supported within their community.


STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Position Vacancy

The STOP Domestic Violence Program Director is responsible for the overall administration of the program ensuring that quality support services are provided to victims of domestic violence and those who are affected by it.  The ideal candidate provides leadership to staff in the daily operation of the facilities as well as operational accountability to ensure both financial and service goals are achieved or exceeded.  BHSN is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual who is passionate and can work with partnering organizations across a tri-county region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field
  • Five years’ experience in/knowledge of domestic violence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of a 24-hour program
  • Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier and reliable transportation for required travel
