Lessons from LGBTQ+ Survivors: Providing Comprehensive Sexual Assault Advocacy Across Multiple Supports.

This webinar will discuss how Northwest Network advocates provide dynamic and responsive sexual violence advocacy both through robust 1:1 advocacy as well as facilitation of the innovative, strengths-based sexual assault support group, Thriving While Healing. This nine-week, all-gender support group is specifically oriented to offer LGBTQ survivors to skills, peer-support & education to address the unique impacts of sexual assault and abuse on LGBTQ survivors. We will share how our main support of one-to-one advocacy-based counseling helps us facilitate diverse, responsive and flexible support across our supports. Interactive activities from the group such as cultivating resilience, normalizing the process of healing, trigger planning, positive sexuality, and self-trust will be discussed during this webinar. Join us in this practical exploration of survivor centered advocacy to increase the self determination of survivors of sexual violence.

Presenters: Elizabeth Bringier, the NW Network of Bi, Trans, Lesbian and Gay Survivors of Abuse
