NNEDV: Responding to Domestic Violence in the Military: What Civilian Advocates Need to Know Webinar (Part 1)
Women* in the military experience intimate partner violence at rates comparable to the civilian population, yet unique facets of military life may add stigma to victims’ decisions to report or seek services. This webinar will provide an overview of the military response to intimate partner violence (domestic abuse), highlight key updates in policy and resources for victims, and build the capacity of state and territorial domestic violence coalitions to coordinate with local Family Advocacy Programs in their areas as part of a military-civilian coordinated community response.
*DoD recognizes domestic abuse victims of all genders. Comparable data (military v. civilian) currently available only for women victims.
