Match Savings Training: NYSCADV & Brighter Tomorrows
Join NYSCADV and Brighter Tomorrows’ ED Dolores Kordon, for the Match Savings Accounts Training on Thursday, June 29 from 2-3 PM. This training provides domestic violence advocates with practical information about how to offer trauma-informed financial support through the development of matched savings accounts. As we know, financial literacy is an important factor for why survivors are trapped in relationships or return to abusive partners. The training will provide information on how you can start a Match Savings Program and the requirements, policies and limitations of the program for the provider and the client. Participants will have a clearer understanding on how they can start a savings account with clients, what are the suitable options, and the resources required.
