As a follow-up to our Plenary at the 2022 National Sexual Assault Conference, we are facilitating a workshop where we will go deeper into how anti-Black racism shows up in the Movement to End Gender-Based Violence and how movement workers and organizations can interrupt it.

Five Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will increase their capacity to recognize how white supremacy, whiteness, and anti-Blackness show up in organizational practice, policy, and culture.

2. Participants will increase their understanding of how white supremacy, whiteness, and anti-Blackness impact Black workers and survivors.

3. Participants will increase their capacity to demonstrate how these individual and relational impacts translate to and reinforce harmful community and societal level norms and practices.

4. Participants will devise strategies to interrupt harmful impacts of whiteness, white supremacy, and anti-Blackness in the movement to end gender based violence.

5. Participants will learn how to be mindful of fostering an environment that is conscious of interrupting anti-Black oppression while leaning towards practices that call in folks to be support and center with Black liberatory practices.
